Instructions:

Prepare the cucumbers: Wash the cucumbers thoroughly and pat them dry. For a more delicate texture, you can peel the cucumbers, but leaving the skin on adds a nice visual contrast and a bit more crunch. Thinly slice the cucumbers using a mandoline or a sharp knife.

Make the dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together the white vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until the sugar and salt dissolve. Finely chop the fresh dill and add it to the dressing, whisking to combine.

Combine and chill: Place the sliced cucumbers in a medium bowl. Pour the dressing over the cucumbers and gently toss to coat evenly. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to meld and the cucumbers to soften slightly.

Ingredients:

2 medium cucumbers

1/4 cup white vinegar

2 tablespoons sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped

Recipe Note: For a milder flavor, you can use rice vinegar instead of white vinegar. If you prefer a sweeter salad, feel free to add an additional tablespoon of sugar. For a bit of heat, try adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the dressing. This salad is also delicious with the addition of thinly sliced red onion or a handful of chopped fresh parsley.
